According to China Mine Safety Administration, three workers were killed due to suffocation in a coal mine accident in Inner Mongolia on September 24, 2021.
The accident occurred at a private, open-pit coal mine. One worker was killed from suffocation when exploring an idled mining tunnel found during the soil-stripping process, and two other workers passed away due to suffocation in the search and rescue attempt.
