XTC New Energy to invest no lower than RMB10 billion in constructing Li-ion cathode material project

XTC New Energy announced that on September 16 it signed an investment agreement LOI on Li-ion cathode material project with the administration commission of Ya'an Economic Development Zone. The company planned to invest no lower than RMB10 billion (USD1.55 billion) in constructing the project in the zone and the project will have a designated production capacity of 100,000tpy LFP and 60,000tpy LNCMO.
The staged project consists of two parts, LFP and LNCMO. The LFP part will start with an initial 20,000tpy capacity with an investment no lower than RMB1.2 billion (USD0.19 billion). Construction will last for two years to expectedly end in 2023 for ready operation. The LNCMO part will start with an initial 20,000tpy capacity with an investment no lower than RMB2.2 billion (USD0.34 billion). Construction will last for three years to expectedly end in 2024 for ready operation. The LNCMO part will consist of a 10,000t battery Ni-Co recycling workshop and 20,000t LNCMO production workshop.
