A recent scientific research report shows that 76% of the proposed coal power projects in the world have been cancelled since the signing of the Paris Accord in 2015, which means that 44 countries will no longer have any coal power plans in the future.
At present, new coal power projects in China, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Turkey and Bangladesh account for 82% of the existing projects in the world. The author of the report called on world leaders to reaffirm the new commitment to abandon coal at the United Nations COP26 climate summit to be held in Glasgow in November this year.
