China's auto sales expected to be 1.71 million vehicles in Aug

According to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), in August 2021 the Chinese automobile industry was expected to achieve sales of 1.71 million vehicles, down by 8.2% on a month-to-month basis and by 21.8% on a year-to-year basis. In terms of category, in August 2021 China's passenger car sales decreased by 17.5% YOY and commercial vehicle sales decreased by 43.8% YOY.
From January to August 2021, China's auto sales totaled 16.47 million vehicles, up by 13.1% on a year-to-year basis. In terms of category, passenger car sales in the reporting period increased by 15.1% YOY and commercial vehicle sales grew by 5.4% YOY.
