WaferChina starts construction of GaAs and InP epitaxial wafer project

Recently, Xi'an Hi-tech Zone held the Q2 commencement ceremony for key projects, during which 51 projects with a total investment of RMB116.5 billion (USD18.02 billion) from advanced manufacturing industry, service industry, new material and new energy industry, electronic information industry and other industries began construction.
The compound semiconductor wafer research, development and production project of WaferChina, one of these 51 projects, will construct 20 epitaxial wafer production lines with a total investment of RMB600 million (USD92.82 million). After reaching designed production capacity, the project will produce 183,600 pieces of GaAs and InP semiconductor epitaxial wafer per annum and record annual operating income of over RMB300 million (USD46.41 million) and annual tax of over RMB35 million (USD5.41 million).
