World crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to industry association the World Steel Association (worldsteel) increased by 16

The European Union produced 13.5-million tonnes - a 32 . 7% year-on-year increase, while other European countries' output increased by 36 . 9% year-on-year to 4 . 2-million tonnes.

North America's steel production increased by 47.7% year-on-year to 10 . 1-million tonnes, while South America's output increased by 49 . 7% year-on-year to 3 . 9-million tonnes.
Asia and Oceania produced 128.4-million tonnes, up 11 . 7% year-on-year . This includes China's production of 99 . 5-million tonnes.
The 64 countries reporting to worldsteel account for about 98% of total world crude steel production.
