1. Market Highlights
In March, supported by raw materials' price rise, CRC and HGI coil prices in Chinese leading markets recorded a rise of around RMB200/t (USD31/t) and RMB50/t (USD8/t) respectively. Prices showed some frequent waves as they failed to keep rising due to soft demand from downstream industries. In addition, HGI coil prices did not move up as much as CRC prices did discouraged by high stocks. Due to the price increase in Chinese domestic market and possibilities about export rebate reduction, CRC and HGI coil export prices were pulled up continuously.
In the international market, CRC and HGI coil prices in many Asian countries including Malaysia and Vietnam moved up further due to tight supply of raw materials, while they did not show big changes in India in the last month of previous financial year.
