1. Market Highlights
In March, wire rod and rebar prices in Chinese major markets waved frequently and generally recorded an upward trend, supported by the pollution curbs in Tangshan, Hebei. Stocks in major markets went down slowly this month amid the price rise. Many steel mills tried to reduce production in order to accelerate the stock consumption. On rising raw materials and the uncertainties of export rebate reduction, wire rod and rebar export prices kept going up in the month.
In the international market, wire rod and rebar prices in Malaysia and India went up this month due to higher prices from the international market and demand recovery.
