1. Market Highlights
Chinese HC ferrochrome prices went up in December supported by higher raw material prices. Due to tight supply, Chinese LC ferrochrome sellers lifted prices constantly, so the prices of Chinese LC ferrochrome went up, so did the export prices of the material . In addition, silicochromium prices edged up in Chinese market this month.
In December, Chinese chromic salt prices went soft amid slack deals as downstream customers only purchased on orders. Chinese chrome metal prices were firm as sellers held prices firm . FOB prices of Chinese chrome metal stood still due to high export cost in spite of sparse deals.
This month, chrome ore sellers in China insisted on high quotations, pushing up in-port-China and CIF China prices of South African chrome ore. Turkish chrome ore sellers also raised prices, so the domestic and export prices of the material both increased.
