Baofang carbon materials UHP graphite electrode project starts commercial operation

On December 21, Lanzhou municipal government and China Baowu Steel Group Cooperation signed a strategic cooperation famework agreement in Honggu District, Lanzhou. On the same day, Baofang carbon material ultra-high-power graphite electrode project with an annual production capacity of 100,000t started commercial operation.
The project is jointly invested by China Baowu's subsidiary Baowu Carbon and Liaoning Fangda Group's subsidiary Fangda Carbon with total investment of RMB2.7 billion (USD413 million). The project broke ground in August 2018 and covers an area of more than 1,072 mu (71.47 hectares). The project will produce and sell large-sized UHP graphite electrode with a designed annual production capacity of 100,000t.
