JISCO creates new non-magnetic steel production technology

Recently, JISCO smelting and rolling plant smoothly completed the production of 70t of high-manganese non-magnetic steel based on the order from a client in Xi'an. The company supplied 375t of the material to downstream clients so far in 2020.
In 2017, JISCO Steel Research Institute Wire and Rod Division and the smelting and rolling plant planned to develop a non-magnetic steel project. In 2018, the first furnace of non-magnetic steel was produced successfully but the smelting time was five times longer than that for regular steel products. Thus, they decided to change the furnace and use new non-electric furnace smelting technology. The new technology significantly cut the smelting time and the highest alloy yield rate reached over 95%.
Steel Materials Testing Center, the Quality and Technology Supervision Bureau of Xinjiang, Lanzhou University of Technology and University of Science & Technology Beijing, all performance indicators of JISCO's non-magnetic steel reached relevant standards. At the same time, the testing result showed that the high-manganese non-magnetic steel 20Mn23AlV production technology originally created by JISCO reached advanced level in this industry.
