Ganzhou Jiangwu Ferrotungsten resumes ferrotungsten production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Dec 20 - Due to completed overhaul of production equipment, Ganzhou Jiangwu Tungsten Ferrotungsten Co., Ltd., one of major ferrotungsten producers in Jiangxi, resumed production of ferrotungsten 75%min early this week and expects to produce about 170t in December. They ceased production on around November 20 due to equipment failure, a source from the company disclosed to Asian Metal.
The source said, "We completed equipment overhaul early this week and resumed production of ferrotungsten 75%min early this week. The output in December is expected to be about 170t." The source added that due to the production suspension for one month, their current inventory is tight and the price of raw material tungsten concentrate continues to rise, so they raised the price of ferrotungsten 75%min to RMB156,000/t (USD23,773/t) EXW D/P early this week.
With an annual production capacity of 6,000t of ferrotungsten 75%min, the company expects to produce about 170t in December and produced about 200t in November. They produced about 3,600t in 2019 and about 2,600t so far in 2020. They hold no stocks at the moment and held 100t in the same period last month.
Currently, mainstream prices for Chinese ferrotungsten 75%min stay at RMB150,000-153,000/t (USD22,859-23,316/t) EXW D/P, up by RMB1,000/t (USD152/t) from early this week.
