Qingdao Baixing suspended expansible graphite production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 18 Dec 20 - As the biggest producer in China, Qingdao Baixing Graphite Co. suspended production due to the environmental inspection about two weeks ago, and would resume production late this month.
"We suspended production two weeks ago due to the environmental inspection, so did the rest of local producers, and we plan to resume production late this month," a source from the company disclosed, they delayed all the delivery of the orders closed last month. Due to the reduced supply, they believe the prices of Chinese expansible graphite would rise in the coming two weeks.
Based on an annual production capacity of 30,000t, they produced around 20,000t in 2019 and about 17,000t so far this year. They produced about 1,000t in November and expect an out put of 100t this month. Now they hold no stock, down by around 100t from late last month.
The current mainstream prices of Chinese expansible graphite 899 stand at RMB11,000-11,500/t (USD1,692-1,769/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/A 180 days, in line with last week.
