1. Market Highlights
With steel mills' purchasing prices for HC ferrochrome in November decreasing by RMB100/t (USD15.29/t) MOM, Chinese HC ferrochrome prices went soft in November . Chinese LC ferrochrome prices also edged down following with lower raw material prices; but the export prices of LC ferrochrome held firm supported by high cost . In addition, silicochromium prices were flat this month.
In November, Chinese chrome metal prices were firm propped up by higher cost resulted from rising prices of chromic salt. FOB prices of chrome metal were firm due to high export cost in spite of sparse deals.
This month, as there were limited deals in Chinese chrome ore market, South African chrome ore sellers cut offers for sales, leaving lower in-port-China and CIF China prices. The market saw few deals of Turkish chrome ore, but sellers still kept prices high, and thus the in-port-China and CIF China prices of Turkish chrome ore were both firm.
