HBIS releases December's bidding result for Chinese silicomanganese

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Dec 20 - HBIS, the largest rebar producer China, announced yesterday that its purchase volume for Chinese silicomanganese for December stood at 24,400t, up by 1,800t from last month. They confirmed RMB6,350/t (USD967/t) delivered D/A as the final price yesterday, up by RMB270/t (USD41/t) MOM.
"Our suppliers held their prices firm since last week, the final purchase price lasted for about one week. We plan to purchase 24,400t of Chinese silicomanganese for December at RMB6,350/t (USD967/t) delivered D/A," a source from the company revealed, adding that the price of the first inquiry stood at RMB6,230/t (USD948/t) last Thursday, but the suppliers could not accept it. Then they lifted the purchase price to RMB6,280/t (USD956/t) last Friday, the suppliers refused again. They bought 22,600t at RMB6,080/t (USD925/t) delivered D/A six months in November. They confirmed RMB6,350/t (USD967/t) delivered D/A as the final price for December, up by RMB270/t (USD41/t) MOM.
With an annual consumption capacity of about 400,000t, the company expects to purchase 24,400t in December, up by 1,800t MOM.
Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese silicomanganese 65/17 stand at RMB6,000-6,200/t (USD913-944/t) EXW D/P, up by RMB100/t (USD14/t) from last week.
