    1 Market Highlights

    1.1 Chinese origin bauxite

In November, prices for Chinese origin bauxite kept stable as a whole. Bauxite prices rose early in the month, but fell again late in the month as alumina plants cut production.

    1.2 Imported bauxite

In November, prices for imported bauxite showed a downtrend in China. On the one hand, the supply of Guinean bauxite increased; on the other hand, as China has entered the winter, some alumina plants in Shanxi reduced the consumption of imported bauxite.

    1.3 Aluminum fluoride

In November, Chinese aluminum fluoride producers kept operating at low operating rates and prices for aluminum fluoride soared. At the same time, the primary aluminum market kept firm and the demand kept strong.

Aluminum fluoride producers in Europe and Africa have increased their prices in line with the performance of Chinese market.

    1.4 Alumina

This month, the alumina market kept quiet and prices remained stable. Some suppliers raised quotations, but downstream primary aluminum plants had less interest in purchasing, so the spot market saw rare deals.

Driven by the increase of aluminum price in the international market, FOB prices for Australian alumina edged up.

    1.5 Aluminum hydroxide

As alumina prices kept stable, prices for aluminum hydroxide kept flat and the spot market remained quiet.

    1.6 Primary aluminum

The price of primary aluminum rose further this month, continuing to hit a record high. The downstream demand remained strong, the spot market saw tight supply, and the social inventory of aluminum ingot maintained a downward trend.

    1.7 Secondary aluminum alloy ingot

In November, the market demand for secondary aluminum alloy ingot in China was strong and had a trend of continuous increase. The customs clearance of imported aluminum scrap was slow, the supply of cast aluminum scrap in China was tight, and the supply of secondary aluminum ingot producers was also tight.

    1.8 Alumina bar

In November, the market demand for aluminum bar continued to be weak, and some aluminum bar producers bore more sales pressure, thus reducing production. The demand for aluminum bar for building profiles will not increase in the near future.
