Weiqiao lightweight base to build automotive research and development center

Guangzhou Hede's 17 million lightweight structural parts, Suzhou Aojie's 500,000 aluminum body assembly and Weiqiao's lightweight pilot projects have been successfully settled in Weiqiao lightweight base. The base was jointly built by the three companies and focuses on the building of an automotive lightweight and the world's aluminum lightweight materials research and development center.
Guangzhou Hede's project has a total investment of 1.7 billion yuan (244 million US dollars). The annual output of 17 million parts equals to about 45,000t of liquid (semi-solid) die-forging aluminum alloy structure capacity. Its sales revenue would reach 2.5 billion yuan (359 million US dollars) with total profit of 500 million yuan (72 million US dollars) and tax of 150 million yuan (21 million US dollars). The first phase is planned to invest 210 million yuan (30 million US dollars) to build 3.8 million precision aluminum alloy structural parts a year, which is expected to be put into production in October 2020.
Suzhou Aojie's project would be invested with 500 million yuan (72 million US dollars), relying on the existing operation workshop and start-up capital of Weiqiao Pioneer Group. The designed production capacity of 500,000 aluminum body is to achieve annual sales revenue of 5 billion yuan (718 million US dollars) with profit and tax of 1 billion yuan (143 million US dollars). It is planned to be completed and put into production by the end of December 2020.
Weiqiao lightweight pilot base project is committed to automotive lightweight design, parts production and research, prototype vehicle manufacturing and small-scale mass production, with a total investment of 300 million yuan (43 million US dollars). The project is scheduled to be put into production at the end of September 2020.
