Baiyin Nonferrous gets approval for Huoyan-Zheyao copper resources project

Gansu Provincial Development and Reform Commission announced on December 20 that it has agreed to give green light for Baiyin Nonferrous Group Co., Ltd. to launch Huoyan-Zheyao copper mines mineral resources development and utilization project in order to further improve the economic benefits of the mines and to integrate the proven copper resources in Mount Zheyao, Mount Fenghuang and Mount Huoyan.
According to relevant documents, the project is designed to utilize 5.4106 million tonnes of reserves and is expected to mine 1,515tpd and 500,000tpy of copper ore grading 0.6-1.2% Cu. Total life of mine is estimated at 12 years including a 2-year construction period. Total investment for the project is about RMB266 million (USD38.12 million), which includes royalties of RMB34.95 million (USD5.01 million).
