On December 27, 2019, Chalieco Shenyang Aluminum & Magnesium Engineering and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Chifeng Qihui Aluminum Development Co., Ltd. signed a contract for the design of alumina project with an annual production of 6.5 million tons.
According to the characteristics of bauxite imports, the project adopts the advanced and mature Bayer process production technology, and applies the new technology and new equipment of alumina production in the industry to the project. The project uses the single-line Bayer alumina process technology with an annual production capacity of 1.3 million tons to produce alumina, which can greatly save energy and reduce consumption. After the project is completed, it will become the world's most advanced and large-scale single alumina company and will become the global aluminum industry's landmark project.
