Jiangxi government announces 2019 tungsten mining quota

On December 16, 2019, two Jiangxi provincial departments Department of Industry and Information Technology and Department of Natural Resources jointly announced 2019 tungsten mining quota for Jiangxi province. Main points in the the announcement are as follows:
1. Tungsten is a metal production of which must be subject to government administration, and no organizations or individuals can produce the metal without or beyond quotas issued by government . Quotas announced in this notification include quotas previously announced for 2019.
2. City- or county-level natural resources authorities in Jiangxi should break down their own tungsten mining quotas and inform local tungsten mining companies by December 20, and should report their breakdown plans to the provincial natural resources department by December 25.
3. To make better use of tungsten mining quotas, quotas can be adjusted between mines within the same company on condition that the total quota of the mines does not excel the overall quota of their mother company.
4. Tungsten companies should appoint particular staff to take charge of their own operation statistics, and by the 2nd of each month should submit to local natural resources authorities statistics of previous month including tungsten ore mining, sales, clients and so on, and city- and county-level natural resource authorities should report their quota implementation status to the provincial department on a quarterly basis.
