Jiujiang supports new material industry development

In recent years, Jiujiang constantly raised support to new material industry such as tungsten, copper, silicon and issued relevant promotion measures, regarding the new materials as the key to build one of the five-billion industry clusters. The city has preliminarily established a complete and large new material industrial chain for now.
The major new material industries in Jiujiang include organic silicon industry, glass fiber industry, recycling chemical industry, construction industry and smelting & deep processing alloy industry based on tungsten, copper, zinc, tantalum, niobium, etc. At present, Jiujiang city is trying to build the world's largest organic silicon production center.
The Outline of Science and Technology Development Plan of Jiujiang City from 2006 to 2020 lists the new material industry as the key development field. The new metals technology development covers tungsten and molybdenum new material, copper and copper alloy materials, magnesium alloy new materials, tantalum and niobium new materials, rare and expensive metals and so on. The city would strive to realize the leap of science and technology in the field of new materials before 2020 and promote the cluster of new and high technology enterprises, so as to promote the rapid, sustainable and comprehensive development of new material industry in Jiujiang.
