Ministry of Natural Resources to further regulate approval on mining right

Recently, Ministry of Natural Resources released a notice on further strengthening regulation on mining right approval on rare earth mine and tungsten mine in order to further regulate approval on mining right of rare earth mines and tungsten mines and protect superiority mineral resources and guarantee legal rights of mining right owners. The notice will be valid for three years.
According to the notice, new tungsten mines should conform to national industrial policy and requirements on yield; new rare earth mines and tungsten mines in poverty-stricken areas will be prioritized; new rare earth mines and tungsten mines must accept environmental impact assessment; regional authorities will be in charge of implementation and supervision of annual yield target.
