In October, both domestic and international vanadium markets saw sharp price increase, and supply shortages are the hottest topic at present. The transaction prices exceeded the highest level in 2005, and then repeatedly hit the record high. The increase in domestic vanadium price was mainly due to the implementation of the new standard on rebar on November 1st. In the expectation of an improve in demand, the market began to see price increase, while the supply of raw material vanadium pentoxide from suppliers could not meet the downstream demand due to relevant policy. So the demand-supply gap is expanding day by day. Market participants believed the prices would rise with vanadium price repeatedly hitting the record high.
