1. Market Highlights
Discouraged by decreasing orders and tight cash flow from downstream users, the Chinese rare earth market witnessed slow buying activities over the past month. Chinese PrNd, neodymium, praseodymium, terbium, lanthanum and europium prices declined over the past month, while dysprosium, cerium and yttrium prices flattened out due to low prices and consumers' regular purchasing activities. Through the whole month, Chinese separation plants had to collect stocks as consumers delayed purchasing. Considering firm production costs from separation and smelters, insiders are of the opinion that Chinese rare earth prices would have small room to decline further in the coming month.
