Baoxin Stainless raises 304 grade stainless CRC prices for January production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Dec 17 - Ningbo-based stainless steel producer Baoxin Stainless announced to increase its list prices of 304 grade stainless CRC for January production by RMB400/t (USD61/t), but decrease those for 430 grade stainless CRC by RMB200/t (USD30/t). After the adjustment, the price for 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C is RMB16,000/t (USD2,436/t) VAT included and that for 430/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C is RMB10,800/t (USD1,644/t) VAT included.
A source from the company attributes the price increase of 304 grade stainless CRC to higher raw material costs and the upward price trend in the spot market. According to him, the market price of Jinchuan 99.9%min nickel cathode in domestic China climbed by RMB4,000/t (USD609/t) this month to around RMB94,750/t (USD14,424/t). Besides, the price of 304/2B 2.0mm*1219mm*C in Wuxi, the largest stainless steel market of China, went up by around RMB500/t (USD76/t) in the past month, but that for 430/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C fell by RMB400/t (USD61/t).
There are seven Sendzimir 20 rolling mills in Baoxin Stainless with a target monthly output of around 50,000 tonnes. The company mainly supplies materials to sales agents and downstream customers, with 300 series stainless CRC and 400 series stainless CRC taking about 50% respectively. "We are under regular production now," he said, adding that they have no stocks in hand and customers need to place orders in advance with the lead time of about one month.
