Shougang Group becomes domestic largest supplier to BMW

On the annual quality meeting of 2017, BMW Brilliance declared that Shougang Group offered the best service compared with other suppliers and BMW was willing to continue its cooperation with Shougang Group in auto sheet. It’s reported that the supply volume from Shougang Group to BMW Brilliance this year increased by 30% YOY, making Shougang the largest domestic supplier and the second global largest supplier to BMW. In particular, Shougang’s supply proportion of automobile body panel which represents the top products of auto sheet is more than 30%, ranking the first among all suppliers in the world.
With the auto sheet output expected to exceed 3 million tons this year and products promoting in the advanced users achieving a breakthrough, Shougang has become a stable supplier to advanced users like BMW, Benz, FAW-Volkswagen, Ford and Dongfeng Nissan. Particularly, the growth ratio of Shougang’s average annual supply volume has been more than 25% since the company began supplying to BMW Brilliance in 2013.
