The rare earth market witnessed continuously rising trend and increasing deals in August as a whole, with PrNd, dysprosium, europium products’ prices reaching tops in mid-August
. The rare earth office of China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT) persuaded the six groups to sell actively with the market prices in early August, but it made no senses and major suppliers continued to raised their prices . By the mid-August, the China Association of Rare Earth Industry (CAREI) suggested to delay or even cancel the coming national reserves, further more to release national reserves to adjust the situation of tight supply, which defeated insiders’ confidence . As a result, the prices showed downtrend in late August . As for lanthanum and cerium products, affected by the strict regulation on CMIIT’s annual production quotas and the central government’s regulation on environmental protection, the lanthanum and cerium production prices went up sharply by 25 . 9%MOM and 13 . 9%MOM respectively . Owing to rising price of oxalate acid, the yttrium oxide 99 . 999%min price increased by 42 . 1%MOM accordingly.
