Prices for domestic steel plate soared substantially because futures prices surged by 30% and raw material prices also rose sharply. But plants limited productions by reducing productions or conducting maintenance on production lines successively due to significant rise of production cost and environmental inspection. The capacity utilization of mainstream steel plate plants only maintained at about 50%. Downstream demand continued to decrease.
