Mainstream prices for Chinese germanium metal 99.99%min still edged up in November continuing the slowly upward trend in October. With low acceptance to the rises in germanium metal prices in Q4, most end users just stood on the sidelines, making necessary purchases. Producers mainly produced based on orders and some who supply via long-term contracts made no offers in the spot market. As spot supply was no longer excessive, germanium metal prices found the momentum and are expected to be firm in December. Market players felt hopeless about the national reverse in 2017 as no news was spread as expected in November.
