12 major zinc smelters hold symposium on production and operation situation

The joint working group of major zinc enterprises has achieved remarkable progress on strengthening the structural reform of the supply side this year. On December 13, 2016, 12 major zinc smelters, whose annual capacity exceeds 200,000t, held a symposium on the production and operation situation in Beijing to analyze and exchange opinions on current complicated situation. Participants reached the following consensus:
1. Treatment charges for zinc concentrate can''t cover smelters’ normal production costs and reflect reasonable interest distribution pattern in industrial chains. Zinc smelters will actively maintain the pricing model and sharing mechanism formulated with miners.
2. Establish negotiation mechanism for imported raw materials.
3. Form raw material supply guarantee system through coordination, optimize logistics distribution path, reduce logistics costs, ensure stable production and market supply.
4. Strengthen industry self-regulation and risk management, ensure steady operation.
