During September, prices for Chinese vanadium products moved down steadily after consecutive increases in August. Producers of vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min raised prices sharply in August and downstream ferrovanadium consumers and vanadium nitride producers followed the trend to raise prices. However, prices tended to be stable in September with a slight decrease shown in late the month. By the end of September, prices for Chinese ferrovanadium 50%min and vanadium nitride had gone up by 1.61% and 1.06% while prices for vanadium pentoxide flake 98%min remained stable from August.
Meanwhile, prices for Chinese vanadium products decreased in the export market in accompanied with rebounding deals as domestic market saw slight price decreases. Overseas consumers started to purchases with the end of the summer holiday and more deals were concluded in the market. However, end users holy insisted on hand-to-mouth purchases based on previous sharp price increases.
