The Chinese vanadium market continued to be dim in September with demand showing no signs of rebounding. Steel mills reduced their consumption of ferrovanadium and vanadium nitride, as well as cutting production
. Meanwhile, in order to lower production costs, end-users were struggling to negotiate a reduction in purchase prices . Producers had to lower prices to compete for deals and recoup money . At the end of month, the prices for ferrovanadium 50%min had dropped by 9 . 3%, while those for vanadium nitride had decreased by 8 . 5% . As for the vanadium pentoxide flake 98% market, it saw scant buying activity and falling prices . The bargaining from buyers was rather fierce and demand decreased, so producers were forced to accept price reductions to secure deals and maintain relationships with regular clients. By the end of September, the prices had moved down by RMB6,000/t (USD0.47/lb).
