During this month, prices for steel plate in Tianjin decrease slightly in general, but those in East and South China were supported by the low market inventory. Prices for raw materials including iron ore and steel billet kept moving down and some rolling mills in Hebei Province only offered RMB2,450/t (USD394/t) for the main grade carbon plate. As some traders order more seeing the increasing profit margin, insiders think the market price will drop in the coming month with more new deliveries from mills with lower purchase cost.
