End of Summit

Asian Metal's leverage in the metal industry continues to grow in strength in disseminating information to stakeholders, and this was aptly demonstrated during its maiden World Indium Forum held at Huatian Hotel, Hunan, from Apr 10-12, 2008.

The forum, among others, brought together more than 120 delegates from 80 companies who exchanged their ideas and experiences on opportunities and challenges being posed in the indium industry.

Mr. Steve Chen, CEO of American GMG Inc, Mr. Zhao Likui, CEO of Nanjing Germanium Co., Ltd, Mr. Chen Mingfei, Manager of ITO department from Hunan BoYun New Materials Co., Ltd, Mr. Zhang Bing, Director of Chinese Market Research from DisplaySearch and Professor Zhuang Daming, from Mechanical Engineering Faculty, Tsinghua University have made speeches on the development of indium market, the indium supply and demand in Chinese, American and European market, the supply of recycled indium, and the development of CIGS solar energy industry.

Intensive discussions were focused on the prospects of indium industry, the influences of ITO, flat panel display and solar energy industries on the development of the indium industry, and the trends of Chinese domestic and export market, etc. It is generally accepted that the application areas of indium will be widened with demand continuing to increase in the coming years. However, the market may fluctuate in the short term.
