Asian Metal visits 5N Plus bismuth oxide plant

Asian Metal visited MCP Chemical Co., a producer of bismuth oxide that belongs to 5N Plus after it acquired MCP last year. Sean Fuller, Director in charge of Commercial Department and Flora Chen, Commercial Manager from Hong Kong also visited the plant in company. Thomas Buhl, Vice-General Manager led the visitors to the plant.
Currently, 5N Plus has three plants producing bismuth oxide and other chemicals in the world. The largest is in Belgium and there is another plant in Germany. The plant in Shangyu was built in 2006 and its current output for bismuth oxide and chemical could reach 2,000 tons, including bismuth oxide, bismuth nitride and bismuth carbonate. The main customers come from Europe, the United States, Japan and other countries. The plant in Shangyu mainly sell to Chinese domestic market. Its current sale price in Europe could reach USD11.0/lb for bismuth oxide.
5N Plus expressed that the price offered on Asian Metal is very useful for them as many contracts are signed according to the bench price on the website. Asian Metal is the first and only website that provides bismuth oxide prices in the world.
5N Plus produces high purity tellurium, cadmium, gallium, antimony, selenium and alloys. Its products are widely used in electronics including solar industry, radiation detectors and infrared equipment. In March 2011, 5N Plus acquired MCP and enters selenium, tellurium, bismuth, bismuth oxide, indium, gallium, germanium and cadmium markets in China.
