Over a year ago, the world economy was in recession and had impacted negatively on global steel industry, and although some measure of recovery has been achieved in the last six months, the recovery has been slow and the ferroalloys sector is still nowhere near its pre-recession level. However, as various reports expect a much better economic environment in 2010, overcoming the weak demand and steady increase in production are what many enterprises have to cope with and adjust production line accordingly.
How would Chinese steel mills fare and be able to lock-in orders given the fierce competition that is likely to arise? Would the anti-dumping duty on Chinese-steel pipes affect the global prices in the sub-sector steel industry?
Continuing with the tradition that began in 2007 when Asian Metal successfully held its maiden Ferroalloys Summit, deliberations on the above pertinent questions will afford stakeholders to once again come together and have a grasp of the implications of various macro-economic policies related to the steel industry at the Ferroalloys Summit 2010, which takes place on April 28th-30th in Beijing.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Commerce, China Development and Reform Committee, China National Information Center and China Bureau of Statistics will clarify and detail macro-controlling policies and export strategies on the development of Chinese ferroalloys industry, as well as present analysis and forecast of Chinese economy for 2008.
Industry players such as China Ferroalloys Association and China Steel Industry Association as well as the kind of associations or organizations from other countries or regions will speak on the development and prospect of Chinese ferroalloys industry, the development of Chinese steel industry and its consumption patter in relation to ferroalloys, the development and prospect of ferroalloys industries in other major production or consumption countries or regions.
Senior executives from well-known major market players in the ferroalloys industry from both China and the rest of the world will give their unique and insightful views on the development and outlook of the specific ferroalloys.
Professional editors from world-renowned media outfits, such as Xinhua Agency, Reuters, Interfax and Bloomberg will attend and report this summit.
