1. Market Highlights
The market performance of section steel and steel pipe showed signs of improving in early this month but turned to unsatisfactory again from the middle of the month. The continuous rains in South China made the demand from downstream industries shrink. Reporting insufficient orders for final products and losses, end users in North China kept inactive in purchasing. Discouraged by the poor sales performance, steel mills and traders moved down prices in succession. In the meantime, prices of raw materials failed to keep rising and fluctuated frequently, together with the bank crisis overseas, weakening the confidence of market performance to some extent.
